Our Impact

Our donors and volunteers have helped impact our community in many important ways. We could not do this without you.

Making a difference. Together.

Our Humane Education program has grown since last year and is now a three-part series, where we visit each classroom three times to reinforce and build upon the lessons of compassion, responsibility, problem-solving, and taking action.

We visited various Animal Care Control Centers with some of our students and their families. The kids were excited to give the toys they had made with the donations from FIDM and Disney to the animals and see them light up. Shelters are not ideal places for animals, as they are limited with resources and frequently over-crowded so it makes such a difference for these pets to have things like toys to brighten their days and give them something to do while they wait for their forever homes. We are entering our third year and have reached over 10,000 students and counting.

Unsheltered People & Pets Program

Thanks to Petsmart Charities awarding BAF a generous grant we are able to expand this program and provide the following services:

  • Monthly onsite Pet Wellness Clinics where a veterinarian provides pet assessments,, vaccinations, flea medications, nail trims, etc.
  • Spay/Neuter– referring/scheduling appointments at mobile spay/neuter and/or brick and mortar vet clinics
  • Medical care/ER vet– case by case basis and depending on funding
  • ESA (Emotional Support Animal) assessments
  • Pet Food/Supplies

This funding  was to assist approximately 100 pets which we will exceed, with clients  all being referred through partnering humane service organizations.

Free & Low-Cost Community Spay/Neuter Services

Bark Avenue Foundation is tackling the pet over-population crisis through free and low-cost spay/neuter. The cost of fixing a pet is prohibitive for many pet owners resulting in accidental litters.  Our goal is to make a significant impact on the number of animals being abandoned, born on the streets and surrendered and euthanized at municipal shelters.

BAF hosts over 24 mobile spay/neuter clinics each year, altering and providing vaccinations and microchips to approximately 1,000 animals. This ultimately prevents 11,000 animals from being added to the pet population annually. This number grows exponentially year after year, making this one of the most impactful ways of saving animals through prevention.

Spay/neuter is a simple procedure that improves the health and longevity of your pet. It prevents certain diseases, roaming, marking, and other unfavorable behaviors
