World Spay Day, 2017 Recap

On Friday, February 24th Bark Avenue Foundation celebrated World Spay Day with a special event and spay & neuter clinic in La Mirada. We had a wonderful turnout with a full bus of dogs and cats ready to get spayed & neutered. February is Spay Neuter Awareness Month and we are happy to share Bark Avenue Foundation sterilized, vaccinated, and microchipped over 200 cats and dogs this month!

Special event attendees included County of LA’s Fourth District Animal Welfare Deputy, Lauren Yokomizo, Rhonda Wall (Store Director, Superior Grocers), Steven Latham (Shelter Me), and Jonathan Chavez (Found Animals Foundation). Bark Avenue Foundation was honored to receive a commendation from the County of LA and a generous donation from Superior Grocers.

Thank you to all of our partners, staff, and volunteers who made this event a success and helping us combat pet overpopulation. Special thanks to our photographers Jim Nista, Dan Schwartz, and BAF Board Member Christy Schilling. The event wouldn’t have been possible without our friends at Team Spay4LA and Pet Food Express for the generous donation of pet food for everyone who spayed & neutered their pets today!
