Homeless pet parents share the same love you and I do with their pets. They embody the principle of pets as family, and they’re committed to doing the best they can in a difficult situation. We aim to support these families by assisting with supplies, veterinary care, and connections to resources so that they can get into housing together.
We launched our newly enhanced Unsheltered People and Pets (UPP) program in December with a vaccination clinic in Venice where approximately 75 unsheltered peoples’ pets received vaccinations, flea medication, dewormer, and goody bags, complete with collar, food, and treats. Starting next month we will be on-site at LA Family Housing monthly providing supplies, vaccinations and vet assessments to those in need and referred by other social services. This is thanks to a generous grant from PetSmart Charities, and we are so honored to have their support for this important program keeping people and their pets together safely.
